The Immortal Soul
According to 1 Timothy 4:17 God is the author of all life and the sustainer of it all. Man has a physical body and an indwelling of a soul. Several different religions believe that the soul never dies. For example, Buddhist teach reincarnation and some teach transmigration. Ancient Egyptians, like other pagans, they observe the unending cycles of nature. In addition, Millions of Hindus believe in reincarnation and that God lives in every soul. Finally, numerous churches of today teach that our soul is immortal. In this chapter, lets examine the above statement.

Next, type in the phrase -immortal spirit in the Bible search engine? _________ How many scriptures came up? __________Finally, try google.com or bing.com! Did you come up with any scriptures? ______________ I could only find one, 1 Timothy 1:16-17. This scripture, we find that only God has an immortal soul.
We can assume by God’s Word that the soul dies. According to scripture, only God has an immortal soul. People have always sought for immortally. This idea of immortality was brought through the church doors by the mouths of Greek Philosophers. For example, Plato published the ideas of the mortal body and the immortal soul. On the other hand, according to Christian History, in the book of Romans 2:7 we can infer that humans seek after immortality. So, then if we are seeking for immortality then how can we already have it. Immortality is the gift that God provides his children.
