How to Lead Someone to Christ

How to Lead Someone to Christ

After you have given your very public “praise-report” (testimony) expect the Holy Spirit to prick the hearts of others, because this is one of His job. As ambassadors for Christ we are suppose to know how to show someone how to “get saved.”

I pray that God gives you a trillion opportunities and I would love to help you become the perfect guide.

Step One:
After presenting the person with the gospel (The Apostle Creed: Virgin Birth, Crucifixion, Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ) the personal must admit that they are a sinner in need of a Savior.
Read and explain Romans 3:23. (Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”) All of mankind have sinned; thus we fall short of God’s glory. We were born under the original sin of Adam and Eve and we all have our own personal sins.

Step Two:
With your Bible in hand or a track read and explain Romans 5:8. Romans 5:8: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Explain to the person that since we were born as sinners and we have sinned we need a savior. This Savior is Jesus Christ who died on the cross; so, we don’t have too. You may also use the following scripture for this: 2 Corinthians 5:21 (King James Version) “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Step Three:
Freely share this free gift with the person. Present the following scripture: “Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our LORD.” Also explain that grace is also free, but not a permit to commit sins. One may explain grace by using the following scripture: Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Step Four:
Finally, lead them to prayer. You may even have to explain prayer to someone who have never done it before. You may reference the following scripture: Psalm 34:15 “The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.”

Special Notice:
If you have never lead someone to Christ; then, know it’s easy! Make sure you practice, practice, practice! Be ready! Some people write these scriptures down in the notes section on their cell phone, some Christians carry around tracts to pass-out, some ambassadors, put sticky notes in their Bibles, and some of God’s children create Facebook videos to share. No matter which way the Holy Spirit guides you to prepare- be ready with your testimony and plan!

I strongly believe that if we are in Christ we are part of the New Creation and part of a community where old social paradigms of hierarchies and caste or class systems have no place in ministry. (2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 3:28) Currently, with the Holy Spirit I am writing my 12th Bible Study. I enjoy volunteering at Elk Valley Christian school, guest appearances, traveling to teach God's word, doing research, and learning new things.
