Freedom from Anger
What is anger?_______________________________________________________ When is anger considered bad anger? ____________________________________
In the following situations record a personal example.
1. Toxic toward someone
2. Will tear u up in side
Today’s lesson begins with an investigation into King Saul’s life. King Saul is a perfect of example of controlled anger that turned into rage and a consuming fire. With this consuming fire, from within Saul, he lost his kingdom. 1 Samuel 18:6-16 The root of Saul’s anger originated from jealousy. (clarified below) God hates jealousy! (for more info on jealousy see our Freedom from Jealousy Anointing Oil lesson below.)Afterward, an evil spirit from God came forcefully upon Saul.
King Saul was ferious with David! He harvested every ill feeling toward and this action is called a grudge. Now, I want to point out to you another difference I found between versions and it is a “BIG-One!” In the following two scriptures highlight the most important word? (Hint: His weapon)
New American Standard Bible
1 Samuel 19:9 Now there was an evil spirit from the LORD on Saul as he was sitting in his house with his spear in his hand, and David was playing the harp with his hand.
King James Bible
1 Samuel 19: 9 And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand.
What is the difference?

Dagger (BC) Spear
King Saul was prophesying previously he attempted to murder David with his golden dagger. Saul was terrified of David, because the LORD was with David. -This is how the world should feel about a TRUE Christian that is fully hooked-up with Christ, because with God all is possible and nothing can conqueror Him.
Saul’s Jealousy against David: Scriptural Meditation Series:
1 Samuel 18:6 When the army returned from conquering the Philistines a parade lined the streets to commemorate the win. However, as they arrived in the town, the ladies from all the communities of Israel “came-out” to welcome the war heroes; which were, King Saul and David. The members of the community were singing and dancing joyously in the streets; which delighted the king. However, in the very next verse, (7 ) as the town (identified by as the women) commence to sing bitterness and strife settled in the heart of the king. Below are the song lyrics to their song:
“Saul has struck down his thousands
but David his ten thousands.”
Again when it comes to verse 10 some of the new translations change the Word of God and it does not line up with the Word. Please read verse 10 from two Bibles and not the Musical instrument. ________________________
According to the following online webpage we’ll discover the difference between the instruments.! In en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyre: a lyre ( Greek : λύρα , lýra ) “is a string instrument known for its use in Greek classical antiquity and later periods. The lyre is similar in appearance to a small harp but with distinct differences. In organology , lyres are defined as “yoke lutes”, being lutes in which the strings are attached to a yoke that lies in the same plane as the sound-table and consists of two arms and a cross-bar .”
Lyre Harp
Sometimes, like King Saul we get so angry that we hurt the ones we love either physically and/or emotionally. On the other hand, when we have harbored a grudge with someone for several our bodies suffer and I believe this is why God requires us to forgive those who have wronged us. However, in all occasions we must first seek God and His instructions for our life and then maybe we might need to seek professional help.
Believe it or not God has everything under control and he has the plan you need. Finally, God has created several Christian counselor and often we MUST locate one that well help us pray and study.
Beloved the ultimate way to distinguish angry is by confessing to God and leaving it on the altar. Jesus loves you so much that He died for you. It was his blood that provided our payment for Sin.
1 Corinthians 13 asked us to pursue love. In fact, we are commanded to love. You bet, love is the antidote for angry! Sometimes, we can’t love, but allow the Holy Spirit to love your enemy for you! For God, is Patient, is Kind, is long-suffering, and is Joy and we all need a little of this for life.
