How do Christians describe salvation?
Using a Bible Dictionary record the meaning of saved, salvation, Savior, etc!

This is a lesson from my book titled: Baptism Necessary for Salvation!

These words suggest the meaning: “to gain eternal life so you can go to heaven when you die.” I don’t like to be a bubble buster, but the Bible does not support such a definition. Scripture never uses this expression. It is simply another man-made term that is often twisted to pervert the Word of God.
The term “saved” basically implies “deliverance” and the framework determines what nature of deliverance is in regard. According to scripture we can be delivered from sickness, our enemies, premature death, and untimely trouble.
Your next assignment is to locate a passage of scripture and word “saved” appears, substitute the words: “delivered” or “deliverance.” Then, examine the context to figure out what form of deliverance the scripture is highlighting. I have found that rarely the word saved refers to gaining eternal life and going to heaven when you die.
There is no way that we can earn salvation. Denomination two promotes that baptism confirms your ticket to heaven. This denomination explains why baptism is necessary for the remission of sins with the great commission of Mark 16:16 and Acts 2:38. Baptism is not a work just like faith is not a way to work yourself in to heaven. For example, please read Romans 6:3-4. This passage expresses the complete faith reaction to the gospel, because we see here that everyone has submitted to the gospel and baptism and they are enjoying the benefits, because this is promised to them by Jesus and through Jesus.
What are the elements to salvation? Have these elements changed over the debate? If so, in the space provided write your written response.

Debate Eight: The thief on the cross and salvation.
You’ll find the incident of the thief on the cross in the following Bible verses: Matthew 27:38, Luke 23:32-43 and Mark 15:27.
Matthew 27:38

Luke 23:32-43

Mark 15:27.

These scriptures describe one occurrence. These passages include details about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and two other criminals. The thief accepts Christ as Lord and is assured that he will join Jesus in paradise. However this incident has caused a debate between the two denominational groups.
Group one, uses this example to prove that baptism is not necessary. Group two, describes this incident as having no merit on baptism, because the thief on the cross died under the old testament covenant. The new test testament covenant did not come into effect until Jesus returned to paradise and the Holy Spirit was sent on the day of Pentecost.
(Hebrews 9:16 -17) Describe the details!

The thief on the cross could have already been baptized, because he would’ve been around when John the Baptist was baptizing everyone in the water. Even if he was not baptized before his death he was saved under the old covenant, because he was saved before the death of Jesus Christ. If we want to make heaven our home; then, we must come over in the New Testament and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. No one in the Old Testament was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
I would like to challenge you to witness some baptisms or watch some on YouTube; then, in the space provided, record what the preacher says before and after the Christian comes out of the water.

I strongly believe that if we are in Christ we are part of the New Creation and part of a community where old social paradigms of hierarchies and caste or class systems have no place in ministry. (2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 3:28) Currently, with the Holy Spirit I am writing my 12th Bible Study. I enjoy volunteering at Elk Valley Christian school, guest appearances, traveling to teach God's word, doing research, and learning new things.
