What does the anointing resemble?

The first thing we need to do is dispel the untruths that Satan has implanted in the     minds of people today. Critics of Christians say that this is just another unrealistic story in the Bible. They would also like to attack the character of God by saying that Jesus messed up and was confused. Other antichrists, would also like to point out that Jesus lost his temper and used fowl language. Thus, He is a hypocrite profit. Boy, have a heard it at all! These above statements are ridiculous and foolish.
One morning, Jesus and his disciples were hungry. Which makes perfect sense doesn’t it? I know when I wake up in the morning I’m hungry and I am ready for breakfast. Thank God that I don’t have to go and scout out the earth for a fig tree. They were headed to the town of Bethany. The town of Bethany was known for its fig trees. In fact, the word Bethany Means home of the fig tree. To understand the story, please read the entire chapter of Mark 11.

Mark 11:13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
Mark 11:20-21 and in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

This story is not random by any means. The spiritual meaning is very clear even for Christians today. On the surface the story is as follows: On the way home from the temple they would have passed the same Fig Tree, but nothing was said on the way home. The tree apparently looked the same on the outside. The next morning; however, when Jesus and his men passed bye the fig tree, the disciples stopped, and remarked it was all dried up. The fig tree represented the Jewish people and us today! These religious leaders, we’re unfortunately, like many of our churches today. They have a form and a fashion of religion, but their hearts are far from God. In other words, God’s people were spiritually barren. They looked good from the outside, but the inside was bad. Jesus entered the synagogue that God, his father, had built for warship. He sees firsthand and knows all of the religious ceremonies and sacrifices. Then, as he enters the synagogue He sees that it is empty in spirit. It’s beautiful, but lacks heart and life. Similarity, this is exactly like the fig tree that Jesus cursed. To be filled with the spirit of God we must be worthy to possess Him.
The tree appeared strong and rooted, but it lacks good fruit. Jesus is using the illustration of the fig tree to illustrate what is going on in the church. He’s trying to communicate that if we are souls with the spirit of God then we should bear much fruit; however, if we do not have the indwelling of the Holy Ghost then we will be cut off and trodden and under the foot of men. Jesus predicted that this church would dry up and be destroyed, because it did not product spiritual fruit. In fact Matthew 5:13, reports that about a year later the Roman soldiers came in and tore down the temple.
As you look around your hometown, how many temples have been torn down? Why? What happens when we remove the old landmarks?

Was it tore down because they were like the fig tree? This is scripture is a warning message for today! The message is that if we do not bare much fruit then there are consequences. For example, if we do not follow the anointed calling on our life; which, produces fruit, then this leads to death. So, in final thought, the parable of the fig tree is not a picture of a confused angry Jesus. This is an expression of Jesus that is very coherent which shows righteous anger. Therefore, God is not always love and will punish His enemies. Frankly, this incident teaches us how to discern those who have true faith and worship; then, that of some who makes a profession. In the space below document your experience with how God called you to your current position.

I strongly believe that if we are in Christ we are part of the New Creation and part of a community where old social paradigms of hierarchies and caste or class systems have no place in ministry. (2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 3:28) Currently, with the Holy Spirit I am writing my 12th Bible Study. I enjoy volunteering at Elk Valley Christian school, guest appearances, traveling to teach God's word, doing research, and learning new things.
