The first thing you need to do, it’s pretty before you go, because the Bible says pray without ceasing. The boxes and everything pray about it.
Jeremiah 17:9 our feelings are monumentally wrong. We need to go at least a couple of times and not go off first impressions.
We need to evaluate, think, and compare.
Number one. Make sure you know what the church believes. The very first question you need to ask someone is what does this church believe in? If you were believes do not line up with that churches beliefs you need to choose another one.
Number twoOccur according to first Peter the Bible is how we grow in Christ. Plus, second Timothy two forces that pastors are supposed to preach the word. Therefore, you must make sure that the teaching is biblical. And this, you have to make sure that you understand the passages of the Bible. One way to check this is if you know more about the Bible leaving the church then when you entered the church.
Step three: is about the worship service. Does the songs worship God. Do the song lyrics match the pages of scripture? John 2:24? Can you sing the song lyrics with a clear conscience?
The fourth question has to do with a children’s ministry? This is important if you have children or if you have grown children, but it’s also important if you plan on bringing children to church. If you don’t have your own children to bring the church perhaps you should find some to bring. That, you want to make sure that the children’s ministry is actually ministering to the children and not just occupying their time. You put it plain and simply, you want to make sure they’re not just babysitting or having social interactions only.
Question number five are there people who just love Jesus? Scripture tells us to align ourselves with like-minded people. We need to get with other Christians, that love Jesus, because when you’re part of the church you’re investing your life into their life. Also, do you want to see if there are elders of the church, because you want to get with people who know more about the Bible than you do. When this happens you learn from them and you’re not always teaching. It’s about growing in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ not sitting steel and getting stagnant.
Number six is outreach. Preaching and making the disciples are at the top of the list, that outreach is also important. How is this body of Christ influencing their community? Is this body of Christ seeking the lost? How are they doing this?
Step seven is important, but not as important as the ones that have been mentioned. The question is: can I fellowship with these people? And if so how? On Sunday, can I talk to someone after church or do they all fly out the door? Are there other opportunities to get to know the people of the church? Do they have women’s and men’s fellowship? Do they do they reach out in social media?
Number eight is a big one, because God gives everyone gifts of the spirit but not all churches will allow you to use your gift. You need to make your choice based on if they will allow you to use your gift. For example not all churches recognize women preachers. I’m a woman and I’m called to preach therefore maybe that certain sure church isn’t the best choice. Ultimately, you have to rely on the Holy Spirit. For me, he told me exactly where to go. Some churches are also ran by families or by clicks and if you’re not in the family or the click; then, they won’t let you serve. Perhaps, you need to look for another church.- if that’s the case.
