What can a church do for you?
What does the Bible say about the church?
Does a Christian have to go to church?
Can a non-Christian attend a church?

In the times that we are living in, we need to understand the hidden meanings of scripture. As time is waxing closer to Jesus coming, God is revealing more and more of his secrets to us. One of the old understandings, is that you can sit home and do nothing, but gain heaven. Nothing could be further from the truth.
This is why Paul in Ephesians chapter one says: I need to pray for you, because your eyes need to be opened. This is why the song says: we once were lost, but now we see see.
Below this heading are some SCRIPTURAL reasons why…
1. To use our spiritual gifts… and hear from God…
Hebrews 10:25
King James Version
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

2. To be in the presence of God….
Leviticus 8:4 – And Moses did as the LORD commanded him; and the assembly was gathered together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. – here, the Lord told Moses together the people and it’s the same for us today!
3. God told us to gather together! Both in the OT and the NT.
4. Jesus is our example and he went to church every Saturday.
Mark 1:21–28 and Luke 4:31–37)

It was Jesus’ custom—his regular practice—to go to church. The Message Bible puts it like this, “As he always did on the Sabbath, he went to the meeting place.” If Jesus made it a priority to meet together with other believers, shouldn’t we, as his followers, do so also?
5. We are the bride Jesus Christ!
Jesus refers to his church as his bride. Therefore, church is very important to Jesus. Don’t forget, that Jesus is God in the flesh. (Ephesians 5:24 & revelation 19:17)
6. To reach the Spirit with like-minded people….
Hebrews 10:24-25 ESv
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
7. To learn from others…
Acts 2:42 ESV
And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

8. Because we need prayer….
Matthew 18:20 ESV
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
9. Put God and the things of Good first…
Matthew 6:33 ESV
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

10. Because God gave us teachers…
2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
11. Where do you partake in communion?
John 6:53 ESV
So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
12. To show brotherly love!
When we do not attend church; we are showing others with our actions that it’s not important. We may not mean to say that, but when we do not go to church this means in essence that church is not important. So, when we tell Jesus that his church is not important we are in Sin.
Scripture also tells us that we know that we Are saved, because we love the brother in and want to be around them. The scripture is found in first John 3:14 and here is what it says: “We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.”

13. To use our spiritual gift!
Why would God give each one of us a gift if he did not want us to use it? Here as what 1 Peter 4:10 says: (ESV) “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:”
Something special happens, in a corporate meeting, when all the spiritual gifts are present. – Gods present is magnified. You need to find a church that does not hinder or grieve the Holy Spirit. Scriptures also says the following:
Romans 12:6 ESV “Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;”
14. Go to church for your children!
Even if you do not want to go to church, Sind your children, because it is a great place for them to learn about how to be a good human being. Church teaches biblical principles along with good morals. Scripture also says the following:“All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.” “Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.” “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.” (Proverbs 1:8, Isaiah 54:13, & Proverbs 22:6.)
Church is where my children learned how to be honest. Yes, honesty is a character trait that needs to be taught. We are not born as honest creatures. Even babies will lie. For example they will cry to be held and we think that they need a diaper change. Overall, church builds the right characteristicsChurch, has many times being blamed for keeping people sober and out of prison.

15. Community Involvement!
When we are going through troubles, trials, and turmoil‘s, we need confidant advice. God has set up the church to be a place to obtain this information.
1 Corinthians 12:26 (New International Version) “26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.”
God designed his church to be a loving people. These people are a family and like a family they are there for you. When one has a hard ache everyone shares in the hard ache, but when someone has a joy everyone shares of joy. My church family stands up for me when I am too weak to stand.
Galatians 6:2 — The New International Version (NIV) “2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
16. You can grow!
Church is a place that you can grow mentally and physically. Mentally, the church teaches you how to be a better person and how to rise above your circumstances. Physically, the church allows you to make connections that will enhance your economical status. -meaning you can network! No matter how you learn; church is a place for you. They have all sorts of programs find that consist of the following: large group, small group, 1 on one, team activities and more.
Ephesians 4:2
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. (NIV)
How else will we grow spiritually unless we interact with other believers? We learn humility, gentleness and patience, developing the character of Christ as we relate within the body of Christ.
17. Ambition

For example, I found my best job, from the people at church. You also can’t participate in extracurricular activities. In addition, small businesses love churches, because they meet people who like or need their products. So, it’s a great way to move your family and your business forward. See, churches for the saved in the unsaved!
18. To meet new people or socialize.
It used to be that, when you moved, church was the first place that you would visit, because the community would be there. Today, it’s sad to say that this is not true. Schools and other events are important. Biblically speaking, Scripture wants us to attend church and to get to know God‘s people. Scripture says for us to be around like-minded people.
1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”
19. The Bible says that we are a member of the body.
Romans 12:5
… so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. (NIV)
It is for our own good that God want us in fellowship with other believers. We need each other to grow up in the faith, to learn to serve, to love one another, to exercise our spiritual gifts, and to practice forgiveness. Although we are individuals, we still belong to one another.
1 Corinthians 12:12
The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. (NIV)
1 Corinthians 12:14-23
Now, the body is not made up of one part but of many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
20. Our leaders in the body of Christ offer spiritual protection.

1 Peter 5:1-4
To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder … Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. (NIV)
Hebrews 13:17
Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you. (NIV)
God has placed us into the body of Christ for our own protection and blessing. Just like it is with our earthly families, being relational is not always fun. We don’t always have warm and fuzzy feelings in the body. There are difficult and unlovely moments as we grow together as a family, but there are also blessings that we will never experience unless we become connected in the body of Christ.
21. It’s Transforming
First Corinthians 10:31: make sure that your motivation is to the glory of God. Whether you go or whether you stay at home. Ask yourself how does this glorify God? Yes, it brings God into your house, but you should be bringing God into your house more than Sunday morning, Sunday night, and maybe Wednesday night. Your neighbor you, who profess to be a Christian, physically leaving your home to attend church. The action of attending church actually brings glory to God.
22. For Ambition
Philippians 2:3 says the following: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” So, if you are staying home, because it’s easy for you; then, you should go to church. If you were staying home, because you don’t like crowds and you don’t want to get dressed; then you should go to church. We should do nothing that yes deceitful or in vanity, because these things are sinful.
We need spiritual leaders that are engaged in our life. People who can see into our situation and give us biblical answers when they are needed.Pavel tells us that we need this in the following scripture: Ephesians 4:11-16 (King James Version) “11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
23. To Avoid Destruction
Does not want his children going through life and chaperoned and earn influenced. No matter where we walk in this life we face temptation and arrows of the devil. We need good godly people to give us advice on which way we should go. This scripture tells us that the devil is very cunning and very crafty. Satan is out to kill, steal, and destroy the saints of God. We have a war going on in our mind. A battle over what is right, what is good, and what is evil. All because of this, we need the church and who God put in it.
John 3:16
Lead into all truth!
24. We Are The Body.
Are you a Christian? Then you are part of the body of Christ; which, Jesus Christ is the head of the church. If you are part of the body; then the body must be joined together. Consider what first Corinthians 12 states. “12As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body, so also Christ. 13For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons, and we were all given to drink of one Spirit. 14Now the body is not a single part, but many.”
Therefore, if you are missing your pet pinky; and you are at a significant disadvantage. If you are nonexistent at church and a few more people do not show up then you’re missing an arm. The church can function without an alarm, but the kingdom is at a disadvantage. So, see you are important to God, to your church, Into your community. Price did not make the body to function absent from all of it to members.
25. Come to reason together:
Sometimes the Bible is hard to understand. The Bible in many instances tells us to come together to reason with one another. In the book of Isaiah God tells Isaiah together together, because there’s a lot of sin. For example, the following scripture gives you the exact answer. This admonition comes from Isaiah 1:18, where the prophet says to Judah, “’Come now, and let us reason together,’ says the Lord, ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Therefore, it is important to study at home, but you can get your aunt your questions answered in a small or large group setting; Mike, church. Church will also give you a well rounded system of beliefs. Sometimes, we can misunderstand or miss quote the Bible and totally go down the wrong direction; yes, we do not have a spiritual God. This is why God established authority that we need only get from church attendance.
26. Come for instruction:

Therefore, when you hear preaching holy spirit ministers to you about your Pacific sans. When Jesus walked the earth he gathered the people and disciples to gather so that he could give them instruction. To prove this point, I have included the following scripture: 1 Corinthians 11:17-18
But in giving this instruction, I do not praise you, because you come together not for the better but for the worse. For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that divisions exist among you; and in part I believe it.
27. To strengthen our faith.

I have heard many times the following quote: “that message was for me!” More often than not, the holy spirit, speaks to the preacher on topics that the congregation faces. The preacher is gifted in discerning and hearing the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost will tell the preacher what to say; then, your faith is increased, because you got your question answered. Another Faith based example is as follows: I was once going through turmoil in my life, but sister Rosie, testified. Although, her situation wasn’t exactly the same, I knew, because of Galatians 3:28 what God did for her he would do for me and my faith was increased. I simply could not get this benefit or blessing if I stayed home from church. God knows who we are, where we are, And what we need before we ask it; therefore, he’s instituted the church to help us grow.
28. Testimonies

Another reason why we go to church, is because we need to hear the testimonies of others. When we hear the testimonies of others our faith increases. We also get to learn how to share our own testimony; which is needed to witness in this dining world. Romans 10:17 says the following: “17 So then afaith cometh by bhearing, and hearing by the word of God.” I wants missed several church meetings and it was disastrous, because very seldomly heard the word of God. You will not hear the word of God in the world; unless, the Holy Spirit seeks you out. Everywhere you turn you hear the messages of Satan. You hear homosexuality, inappropriate jokes, you see inappropriate gestures, you see Socialism, etc. but God is preached and found in the church. We have to guard our heart, our mind, and our mouth. Have you heard the song: I’ll be careful little wise what you see? If we put garbage into our being then garbage will be what we put out. Romans 12:1 tells us that we are the temple of the Lord. The Holy Spirit will not reside in a dirty temple. God will not stay where he is not wanted and he certainly will not stay where sin a bounds. Church teaches you such topics. Church will help you be a better witness, which improves your testimony. Our testimonies prove who God is, that he is real, and that he loves us.
29. Singing!
The act of singing uses both part’s of the brain, therefore it can educate us and teach us about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Singing connects us emotionally. For example, songs of celebration have the power to lead us to dance. Another example is as follows: songs of lament have the power to lead us to tears. The Bible has a great deal to say about singing praises to God. Below are a few examples:
In Ephesians 5:19, Paul gives a direct command to the church: “Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord.” When we sing in true obedience, we understand deep roots in the Words, we build up others, we make war against Satan and sin, it’s persevering, it’s finding joy in God: All these things bring glory to God, which is each person’s chief goal and purpose. Sure, you can sing anywhere you are, but when you corporately saying it’s different.
Psalm 96 :: “NIV. Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.”When we do what the Bible says and sing together as a church family, we are hearing confessions of faith all around! We are hearing hundreds join with us and sing, “In Christ alone, my hope is found!” We are hearing hundreds of testimonies of faith all around us!
Colossians 3:16 ESV
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Our singing is more than a warm-up for the sermon or a filler in the service. Colossians 3:16 is clearly laying out for us that: Singing stands alongside of preaching as one of the two great ways that God has ordained for his Word to dwell richly in each one of us!
Psalm 100:1-2 ESV
A Psalm for giving thanks. Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!
Singing to God or singing in general brings and releases feelings of joy and happiness. Singing invokes positive thinking and positive works.
At church, we express our reverence to God through our singing. Our singing ministers to the hearts of others.
Also know that as you sing, you’re helping unbelievers. In Psalm 105:1-2, the Lord is calling the Israelites to be a light unto the nations, and to do this he tells them: “Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!”
Think of the impact on someone who doesn’t know Christ to hear those hundreds of testimonies, those hundreds of confessions of faith as we sing together!
30. Everyone needs prayer!
Often times, the prayer that we want to be known it’s too painful to put into words; therefore, we go to church and ask for prayer for an N spoken prayer request. Other times, we want to enlist other people to pray with us and for this reason, We voice, this request during prayer request time. There is something to be said about having someone else be your intercessor prayer warrior, because in James 5:16 says that a prayer from a righteous person is worth it’s weight. Have you ever had a loved one that was sick and you needed a prayer to reach the portals of heaven? Yes, most of us have needed others to pray for us and with us about certain issues; so Church, is the best place for such requests. In addition, Matthews tells us where there are three or more are, in group, in agreement, he will hear. For your convenience, here is exactly what it says: Matthew 18:20 (New International Version) “20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
I found it also to be true, that praying for someone, can be a blessing. I have made some good friends praying and keeping up with their prayer requests. When someone asks you to Pray and then you ask them about they’re healing; then, a friendship could ignite.
31. To be an example!|
Eph. 5-9 be like Jesus! Be filled with wisdom and walk in the manor pleasing to him. By spiritual milk we grow! We are like living stones building up his house. Be strong in the Lord and put on the armor and stand against the powers of the Devil. Church is a way to build it up and learn to use it!
32. To give
Bare one another’s burdens. Being together in one accord. In gladness. To worship God in spirit and in truth. Romans 12:4-12 one parts builds onto the other.
Works of service Eph. 4
33. Baptism
Being born into God. Salvation – John 3:5 Born into sin and comes a point the Holy Spirt convicts us of sin. We repent and the Holy Spirt cleans us of our sin. Leaving your wicked ways and traded for the news ways of God.
34. Paul went to church and he founded many churches.
Regular church attendance was how he lived his life. He thought the day of Jesus’s return was close and commanded the people to gather more often. Hebrews 10:25
How can you get Baptized outside of church?
