This is a very interesting Psalm, because the Psalmist is asking God to take vengeance, but it is comforting to us, because we’re looking at the future. Vengeance describes God‘s judgment on the nations of the world. Vengeance is something that Christians are not supposed to engage themselves into. We are supposed to leave all judgments up to God, because he is the judge and there is no need for a jury. The Lord has and will execute final judgment on destructive people and powers of the world. This Psalmist asked God to rescue his people.

See, God is a just and loving God. (Psalms 25:8-14)
Psalm 25:8-14 King James Version
8 Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11 For thy name’s sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
12 What man is he that feareth the Lord? him he teach in the way that he shall choose.
13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14 The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
He is always fair, because he loves each of his children in the same measure. (James 2:: NIV 1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. )
As Americans, we are always in a hurry to get things done. When we have an event we find ourselves saying the following: “let’s get this done!” We hardly ever look at history, but we always look at the future. history can tell us a lot, but we choose not to heed. We choose to focus on the future and never look back. Since, we are not to take vengeance and we leave it in God’s hands the scripture, becomes comforting to us. We feel the sense that evil Will finally get what it’s deserved.
Today, as we look around society, we see a people that are in rebellion. They do not want to listen to God and they certainly do not yield to his laws and statutes. The sin of the world only bring it to its distraction.
Matthew 7:13 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:”
Let’s take time and read Psalm 94.

Psalm 94
(King James Version)
“94 O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.
2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.
3 Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?
4 How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
5 They break in pieces thy people, O Lord, and afflict thine heritage.
6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
7 Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.
8 Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?
11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;
13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
15 But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
OK! Let’s break it down a bit! Verse one says the following: “ O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.”
There are aspects of God’s attributes that I love and hate. For, example I love that God has loving kindness and patience towards me, but I don’t like it when he has loving kindness and patience toward my enemies. Can you agree with that? Was there a time that you said the following to God: “God, Sikkim!” For example, when my Cow was slaughtered and someone stole the meat out of my freezer, I wanted God to give me immediate justice and restoration. I want a God to give them a “whip -in”! But, when I do wrong I appreciate God‘s steadfast love, he is long-suffering, and has patients toward me.
2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud. (GOD TAKE CARE OF THEM)
I think within each one of us justice lives, because each one of us wants justice. We often say: “I’ll get even with him.” You know, I watch court cases all the time and I love to rejoice and cheer over the guilty getting what they deserve. You see, when it is in our hands we want mercy, but when we are the victim we want more than justice. For example, when we are in a car wreck, we want our car and body restored, but we also want pain and suffering. We always want restoration above what we deserve.
3 Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?
We find it a problem that God does not always bring Swift justice. For example, The United States Constitution tells us that we are entitled to a swift trial.
So, the Psalmist asked God how long will he allow this to go and judged.
4 How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
The word “utter” means pour out! This section of scripture is talking about the babbling an arrogancy of the deceitful. It’s talking about them employing their arrogance and babbling on the world.
Psalm 59:7. New International Version
7 See what they spew from their mouths(A)—
the words from their lips are sharp as swords,(B)
and they think, “Who can hear us?”(C)
It seems that God lets the evil people continue to be evil. We murmur and complain and ask God: “how long will you wait?” It seems like we wicked people get by with their wickedness. It seems that there is no justice. I think about the lady, one lady, who went all the way to the Supreme Court and got prayer out of schools. I wonder, what why the Christian voice wasn’t heard and why that ruling has not being overturned? It seems that this one evil woman’s wishes were granted; even though, it goes against the vast majority. I thought that we lived in a democracy? Why does God allow her to live? She is a atheist. “How long, oh Lord, will you wait,” we cry out?
5 They break in pieces thy people, O Lord, and afflict thine heritage.
The Psalmist says that evil people break down the good people. The enemy of God seeks to obliterate God’s people. The evil. People target who they consider weak! Fro example, the news is great at doing this! They make up fake news about people and destroy who they are and what they stand for. The news helps people do wrong. They are vicious in their attacks against Christianity.
The Madalyn Murray O’Hair atheist movement has definitely affected the heritage of gods people. However, I think the people of God are sick of this Godless attitude from their government and society. I think people are ready for a change. I think people are ready for God‘s vengeance. – at least those sanctified Christians are ready, but we are ever so reminded and thankful that God does not come back, because some of our friends and family are not ready to meet the Lord.
Oh Lord, how long these evil activities?
6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
7 Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.
The wicked have taken the attitude that our God what they do. They do not believe that God exists and they do not believe that he is coming back. They believe that they are in control and that God is not in control. They mark Christians God. Has says that they kill the widowers and the fatherless. Smith’s mean take into consideration all the abortions that are going on today. The millions of babies that are unwanted and destroyed. How soon. And we ask: “Oh God, how long will you wait?”
8 Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise? (he says those that will not listen to the word are fools)
Scripture tells us that the natural man is against The things of God. This is why in the do not choose God you automatically choose evil. 1 Corinthians 2:14
(King James Version) “14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
God always has known and always will know everything there is to know about everyone and everything. Our God is omniscient. You won’t find the word omniscience in the Bible, but what you do find is that God tells us in various ways that He knows EVERYTHING about us.
God knows our heart — Jeremiah 17:9-10, 1 John 3:20, 1 Kings 8:39, Psalm 66:18, Matthew 5:8
He knows the innate wickedness of my heart (Jeremiah 17:9-10), and yet He says in 1 John 3:20, that He “is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.” Solomon, in his prayer of dedication for the temple, affirmed this truth – “…for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men” (1 Kings 8:39b). God knows when we hold sin in our hearts causing our fellowship with Him to be broken. And He knows when we are seeking to have a pure heart in order to see Him. He knows our hearts!
9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see? ( David said that God created humans; therefore he created our ability to for hearing and see. But, until we are born again we are blind.)
10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?
It is not the weakness of God that keeps him from his judgment. It is not a flaw in his character. It is the love of God that prevents him from vengeance he gives every opportunity for the wicked to repent, but the wicked chooses darkness rather than light. The evil ones misinterpret God’s long-suffering love. They mistake God as being weak. Then, they have no faith; so, they question whether God can actually see and hear what’s going on in the world today. Then the evil one say the following: “ surely, he would have done something about it if he could.”
11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
God knows our every thought! See the following scriptures: Psalm 139:2b, Job 42:2, 2 Corinthians 10:5
No thought has ever crossed the mind of a believer that has not been seen by God! Psalm 139:2b says it clearly – He understands “my thoughts afar off.” He doesn’t just know my thoughts, but He understands them! We might be afraid for other people to know all the things we are thinking at any given moment, but God already knows! Job knew this truth. He said that he knew “that no thought can be withholden from” God (Job 42:2). God knew our thoughts would be a battleground. That is why He admonishes us with 2 Corinthians 10:5 – “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” He knows our thoughts and wants to help us bring every single one into captivity in obedience to Him!
12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;
God knows and understands humanity‘s inheritance weaknesses of the flesh. This is why he sent the comforter. We can withstand the wiles of the devil, because the comforter, the Holy Ghost, lives inside of us. This is why Christians can walk uprightly in today’s world.
13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
Many facets of society blasphemes against God.
Example one, In the school system, we no longer are able to teach creationism, because we have to teach that we are all here by chance. We were the byproduct of something. Something interacted with something else and created us by accident.
Example 2: Homosexual‘s and lesbians put their lifestyles on parade. Men with me and and women women is always wrong. God healed an entire city for this activity.
Example 3: Male and female are participating in fortification. They talk so openly and even brag on their sexual exploits. There are TV shows about: “my baby‘s daddy or who’s my baby daddy?” We even think it’s OK for a man and woman to be shacked up before marriage.
Example 4: There are delivered a chance to correct the mind of children. Just look at Hollywood and look at the TV Companies, look at the entertainment, look on social media media. Filthiness everywhere! They openly evilness and sin. Lord, why do you allow this to go on?
“Oh Lord, how long will you wait”, we ask?
14 For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
15 But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
God allowed The alternative lifestyle to go so far that it reached heaven, before passing judgment on them. He utterly that age. In the days of Noah, people let your morals go by the wayside. They continually became more evil and there was no righteousness. God only allowed them to go so far, before he passed judgment on them. God will only let sinners go so far before passage judgment on them. Today there is called the Reprobate Spirit. God is not pleased with the sin of the world and he will return soon with judgment.
There is either heaven and hell. You can shun Hell and make your eternal home in heaven or you can be an intruder in Hell. Matthew 25:41 tells us that hell was made for the devil and his angels. Just like the Psalmist, we question how long God will wait on this nation? This nation has turned his back against God and blasphemes him every day. Oh, Lord how long will it be? How deep do we have to get in the miry clay before God intervenes? Can we not see, do we not know, doing not understand the consequences of our own sins, don’t we know that we’re facing a plague that can nearly destroy us all? Can we see what the drugs are doing to our society? Can we see what alcoholism does to our society? As a result of our attitudes and actions God will return with his judgment. This time when he returns it will not be with water, but with fire. Aren’t you so aren’t you surprised at how long it has taken God? Aren’t you surprised at his long suffering? God is far more patient than anyone of us could ever dream. But don’t mistake the long-suffering of God to be weakness or as approval. For the day of the Lord shall come.
The set of scriptures describes corrupt rulers and powers of the government. The psalmist describes how they usually use legal legislation to persecute the righteous and enable wickedness. These things are like abortion laws that are contrary to the will of God. However, when he brings judgment they too will bow before God!
Philippians 2:10-11New King James Version
10 (A)that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and (B)that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
What will be in God’s judgment?
Revelation 20:2 King James Version “2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,”
Revelation 20:10 King James Version 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Then, your name better be reordered in the book or you to face fire and brimstone.
Revelation 20:15 New International Version “15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life(A) was thrown into the lake of fire.”
Revelation 21:8 New International Version “8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars(A)—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur.(B) This is the second death.”(C)”
Are you ready? Are you on the winning team? Is Straight your walk or is narrow your way? do you know for sure you’re going to heaven? Prayer and a contrite spirit is all it takes to have a conversation with the Lord.
Revelation chapter 22 verse three says that there will be no more curse and forever we will be with the lamb. Hell is not a place for anyone. In fact you’re intruding when you enter the gates. Choose Jesus today!
