Class 2: Living the Salt Life

Scripture says we are the salt of the earth. Christians are supposed to be the flavor of the earth. Christians and even preachers are excited, because the scripture says we are the salt of the earth. The problem is that most Christians are living bland lives. You may be more spiritually minded than you know. It is the Holy Spirit that keeps us charged. Sometimes, to prove it to our self we need to write down where God has effected our life. (This is when you would count your blessings.) Most likely, your blessings become your mound of salt.
Scripture states that the flavor we should produce is peace temperance long-suffering and patience. No one person contains all of this with out the Spirit of God. The fruits of the spirit are a gift from God. That bears witness to the world that we are stamped and sealed for a turn it he. These gifts are what makes each child of God Different.
Scripture uses salt as an example, because we are to be an example to everyone around us. Let’s face it, when we add salt to the food it makes it different. It makes it taste better. Out we should be live in our Christian lives to be so different that people wonder how we do it and want what we have. This is the idea of the gospel. We are continuously the salt and light of the world
We are to encourage each other. The flavor that we leave with someone should do just that. For example, when we stop and pray with someone we leave them with encouragement. When we praise someone, we encourage them to for fill their purpose.
A Have you seen all of the decals on cars and even on sweatshirts that say live salty? My teenagers tell me that society may not see that phrase the same way a Christian views that phrase. For example, we were at the beach in a beachfront store and I said, “oh I have to have that shirt it says something about living a salty life!” – that’s what we’re supposed to do we’re supposed to live live for God.” -And my whole family started to laugh? So, we begin to discuss the issues surrounding the phrase. So, today I would like to share its meaning from a biblical perspective.
Let’s read Matthew 5:13 you are the salt of the earth: that if the salt have lost it saver, whereinwith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. This is a passage taken from the sermon on the mount. Jesus was telling his disciples to go forth and be the salt of the earth. Christians we are to be the peacemakers. We will also be persecuted for righteousness, we will obtain heaven. In verse 11 we are to speak against evilness and lies. Family, we are supposed to be caught doing good works which glorify our father in heaven. Saying live a salty life is a lot easier then reciting Matthew 5:13. As Christians we all should have the desire to live holy lives.
Living faulty labs, we should be preventing decay and seasoning the lives of others, mercy, grace, and forgiveness. We also should be cleaning by bringing salvation which allows Jesus to purifier and preserve. According to Revelation 3:1–3 we should be preventing decay back or forming good moral work and spiritual work. Mark 1615 in form says that we should continue spreading the gospel. Even if it means teaching or preaching God’s word. Paul 4:5-6 tells us to use our conversations to be the salt of the Earth. In addition, in Philippians 4:8 we are only to pursue what is right and what is pure.
According to the second half of Matthew 5:13 if we are not the salt of the earth then we are good for nothing. We are to be cast down and killed under the feet of death. This scripture is speaking about a spiritual death not a physical death; however, their final judgment will be place called He’ll. For example, Galatians 5:19-21 provided a lists of possibility of defilement of the salt of our spirit. It reads:
Please tease and record what information Matthew wanted us to obtain from Matthew 5:19 -21. Record your findings in the space below!

So, the remedy is easy. Let’s not lose our flavor! Let’s not live ungodly lives! Let’s not be fearful or doubtful! Let’s let the electrical charge of the Holy Spirit put our lives into perspective. Let’s strive to pursue God (Hebrews 5:9)and stay clear of spiritual impurities and contaminants. (Colossians 3:5 & Thessalonians 4:7)

I strongly believe that if we are in Christ we are part of the New Creation and part of a community where old social paradigms of hierarchies and caste or class systems have no place in ministry. (2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 3:28) Currently, with the Holy Spirit I am writing my 12th Bible Study. I enjoy volunteering at Elk Valley Christian school, guest appearances, traveling to teach God's word, doing research, and learning new things.
