What does the apple symbolize to me?

  1. The apple comes in all different shapes. It reminds us that we are all created in the image of God.

Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

  • The apple is green and it symbolizes green pastures.

Psalm 23:2

King James Version

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

God continually provides food and rest for those He loves.

  • God created the apple as food. Jesus is also our spiritual food.

John 6:50-51

New International Version

50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”

  • The apple has seeds and we can count them. It means we have enough seeds to sow, but sharing the seeds of life can never be counted.

Isaiah 55:11 “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

  • The apple makes juice and it means we should eat and never go dry.

Matthew 5:6

New International Version

6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

    for they will be filled.

  • Like the apple; the body serves a purpose and it decays, but what happens to the soul?

Romans 6:23

New International Version

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord

7. An apple rots and decays after it has served its purpose. So, what happens to the soul after death?

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

I strongly believe that if we are in Christ we are part of the New Creation and part of a community where old social paradigms of hierarchies and caste or class systems have no place in ministry. (2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 3:28) Currently, with the Holy Spirit I am writing my 12th Bible Study. I enjoy volunteering at Elk Valley Christian school, guest appearances, traveling to teach God's word, doing research, and learning new things.
